In 2022, Ted stepped in as Chief Executive Officer for the company. His previous role was overseeing sales and marketing and purchasing most of our onions and potatoes.

Ted’s insights have allowed the company to develop its state-of-the-art methods and facilities while maintaining its signature family culture and personal service roots. He will continue to provide a long-range strategic vision for the company. 

Outside of Keany, Ted loves to go fishing, boating, hiking, or anything outdoors!

Chris grew up in the produce business and has held a variety of roles within the company before stepping into his current position as Chief of Staff.

He started his career as a Shipping Supervisor in our Landover warehouse, shortly thereafter he transferred to our Richmond, VA facility (Emerald Isle Foods) acting primarily in an Operations Role, returned to Landover to become an Account Executive, progressed to a Business Development Manager, and most recently promoted to Chief of Staff working closely with Executive and Senior Teams.

While not at Keany, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering with a local fire department (BHVFD).

Michael (Mike) Timberlake is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Keany Produce & Gourmet. He is based out of Landover, MD and is responsible for the company’s financial management functions including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, asset-liability management, tax, and insurance.

An 18-year accounting veteran, Mike previously worked at McGladrey and CLA before joining Keany in 2014. Mike earned his Bachelor’s in Accounting from Towson University and maintains an active Certified Public Accountant license.

While not at Keany, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.

When you think of Keany Produce, you often think of Roy. Roy has been with the company since 1986, starting as Keany’s first Account Executive. Over the past 37 years, he has progressed throughout the Sales Department to become a Sales Manager, Executive Director of Sales & Marketing, and now Chief Sales & Marketing Officer.

Outside of Keany, Roy loves to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoys long bike rides and supporting Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Anthony joined our Keany team in 2009 as a Warehouse Supervisor at our Landover facility. His leadership was quickly recognized, and he joined Keany’s Executive Leadership Development Training Program, which combines job training, industry training and leadership development activities. Within the program, he held positions leading our Keany Kuts precut facility, Director of Operations and in sales, before landing back in operations. He transferred to our Richmond facility to oversee its entire operations.

Anthony has been a part of largescale project planning throughout his tenure, Including our precut room reconfiguration, warehouse expansion, and slotting system mapping. He is now the Chief Operating Officer overseeing both distribution centers, our precut facility, and food safety and routing teams.

Outside of work, Anthony enjoys traveling, hiking, and going to the beach with his wife and two children.

Steven is a dynamic Chief Transportation Officer with a diverse background in transportation management and logistics. With over three decades of experience in the industry, he has successfully led large-scale transportation operations, streamlined processes, and increased operational efficiencies. Steven’s strategic vision and expertise in supply chain optimization have resulted in significant cost savings and improved customer satisfaction for Keany and other organizations he has served.

Outside of work, Steven likes to spend time with his family cheering on Florida sports teams or hitting the slopes in Utah.

Danny has been with Keany since 2010, working out of both our Landover and Richmond facilities. Danny oversees our inbound logistics, quality assurance and inventory teams, and Keany’s full product line.

At home, Danny likes to play tennis, and spend time with his wife and three kids.

Patrick has been with Keany since 2010, starting in our Executive Leadership Development Training Program, initially overseeing our Fresh Cut Processing Facility, and then moving to Richmond to manage that new Distribution Center. He then served as Director of Business Process Improvement, and successfully led the implementation of an updated Warehouse Management System at both facilities. He also directed other strategic initiatives focused on automation and EDI/e-commerce.

Currently, as the Chief Information Officer, Patrick is involved with data management and analytics, cybersecurity, and various projects to keep Keany on the cutting edge of digital transformation, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing.

In his free time, Patrick enjoys exploring local Richmond craft breweries and checking out the newest restaurant.

As a California native, José has spent most of his life working with fresh produce – selling at farmers’ markets, preparing it at a busy restaurant, and enjoying traditional Mexican dishes with family and friends. Since joining Keany in 2011, Jose continually brings a breadth of experience that is tough to match.

Tim has been with Keany since 2013; starting as an Account Executive, he now oversees our Street Sales team covering Maryland, Delaware, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

When he is not selling produce, Tim enjoys spending time his three sons, golfing, and watching Philly sports.

Eric has been leading the Richmond Street Sales Team since joining his uncles’ company in 2011. He actively focuses on how we can best serve the needs of our customers.

His favorite hobbies include bird watching and shuffling songs on a Taylor Swift’s “top hits” playlist. He especially enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters!

Amie joined Keany at the end of 2023 as our Director of Human Resources. Her previous 20 years of HR experience includes various industries, with most being in production and manufacturing. Through her motivational leadership and pragmatic approach, Amie translates Keany’s vision into HR initiatives that improve performance, productivity, growth, employee culture, employee turnover, and organizational effectiveness.

Outside of the office, Amie loves to spend time with her family outdoors at the beach, camping, or skiing.

Mary oversees implementation for new customer groups and concepts and is responsible for overall satisfaction of our National Accounts customers. She effectively synchronizes Keany’s operations across all internal departments to ensure adherence to customer group specifics.

Outside of Keany, Mary enjoys family time with her three sons, and visiting local vineyards and breweries with her husband and friends.

Yasmien is an experienced foodservice professional with expertise in account management, EDI integrations, pricing, and data analytics. She started working for Keany in 2012 as a Territory Marketing Associate, began the National Accounts Department in 2014, and is now the Director of Client Programs.

She loves family, friends, and food; she’s happiest sitting next to a body of water enjoying all three.

As Director of Contracting, Marcia is responsible for coordinating the entire contracting process from the initial Request for Proposal through the delivery of the product to our valued customers. Trained in New York City and Paris, France, Marcia progressed through the ranks of kitchen staff from Stagiaire to Pastry Chef to Executive Chef and uses that expertise continually throughout her 28-year tenure with Keany.

In her time off, she enjoys time with her husband and daughter, boating and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay, cooking, reading, discovering new foods during travel, and watching the Blue Angels during Naval Academy Commissioning Week.

Jesse started at Keany in December 2013 and has worked in multiple departments, including Customer Care, Shipping, Production Management, and Training. He was the Senior Operations Manager of our Landover, Maryland facility before stepping into the role of General Manager of our Richmond, Virginia facility called Emerald Isle Foods. 

He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Angel, a Silver Spring, Maryland native, began his journey with Keany at the age of 18 as an Order Selector. Recognized early on for his strong work ethic, he received mentorship from Senior Leaders, Anthony Cargiulo and Jesse Daye, to gain insights into Keany’s operations. Progressing through the ranks from Supervisor to Manager, Angel now holds the role of Senior Operations Manager. In this capacity, he oversees order selection, truck loading processes, warehouse maintenance and workflows, as well as managing our Receiving and Short Order Departments. Despite not having prior experience in produce or warehouse management, Angel has embraced the opportunity to learn the industry and its operations, ultimately leading to his current position. Beyond Keany, Angel cherishes moments with his two children, engaging in activities such as watching movies, cartoons, and teaching them Spanish.

John has over 40 years of experience in the food industry, having both managed and owned restaurants, as well as owning a wholesale produce distribution company for 15 years. Since 2010, John utilizes his past experiences in his current position with Keany Produce.

John purchases avocados, lettuces, citrus, melons, and colored peppers among many other popular commodities.

Cassidy has been with Keany since 2018, following her graduation from St. Joseph’s University with a concentration in Food Marketing. Cassidy oversees Keany’s marketing strategy and implementation, social media, website, product expansions, and various projects.

When not at Keany, Cassidy enjoys relaxing on the beach, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and trying new restaurants.

Gia joined Keany Produce & Gourmet in 2014 and has worked her way up to become Director of Customer Relations. Leaning on her combined experience and knowledge of over a decade in the hospitality industry, Gia manages our Customer Service and Support teams to provide the best service and interactions with our customers, vendors, and prospects.

Outside of Keany, you can usually find her taking an adventurous bite paired with a nice wine or cheering on her favorite soccer teams at local sports venues.

Troy joined the Keany team after being a customer for over 25 years. Troy has an extensive background as an Executive Chef, Chef Consultant, and Restaurateur. He brings a world of knowledge and experience to lead our state-of-the-art precut facility.

Troy enjoys cooking at home for family and friends, leisure cruising on the Potomac, attending food festivals, and listening to live music.

Charlie an active Maryland CPA and brings over 12 years of accounting experience. He worked previously in public accounting for 7 years before coming to Keany in 2018. He enjoys spending down time with friends and family especially his wife, two little daughters.

Aaron is the General Manager of Shenny Tomato, Keany’s Wholesale and Repack Facility. He has over a decade of experience in the produce industry ranging from fresh cut produce, ripening tomatoes and avocados, and industry standard packaging materials.

In his free time, Aaron is an endurance cycling enthusiast.

With over 15 years of Transportation and Logistics Management, Kim manages Keany’s inbound loads at Blacklion Logistics, Keany’s logistics company.

Outside of work, Kim loves spending time with her family and playing with her dogs, Rona and Noli.

Brian joined Keany in 2021; he previously held different positions in distribution before transitioning to HR for the last 9 years. He currently oversees recruiting, workers comp, and employee relations.

When not at work, Brian enjoys listening to live music, playing golf, or cheering on the Washington Capitals.
