......................David Scribner
..Owner & Head Chef “Smith Point” and “Jetties”

It’s been a slow dawning for me to realize that I wanted
to be a chef. I dropped out of Brown University and moved
to Nantucket Island. Nantucket is a small island with a
wealth of world-class restaurants. I worked in those
restaurants for four years. It was a great experience.
I loved it!”

“I want herbs, great produce in my kitchen, lots of whole grains. The food I love is more healthy, less refined. When I feel good about my food, I know you’re going to feel good about it, too.”

“Carol Greenwood is a mentor of mine. She reinvents food everyday depending on what she handpicks to stock her kitchen. Her cooking is fresh and honest.”

“This profession is different because you’re always learning. You get more seasoned with age.
That’s what I like about it.”

‘Smith Point’ [on Wisconsin Road in Georgetown]
has been open for more than two years. We opened
‘Jetties’ [on Foxhall Road just off Reservoir Road]
six months ago.
Jetties’ is a dream come true for me. I’ve always wanted to own a sandwich shop.”
