Receiver

Title:		Receiver 1st shift (AM)
Location:		Keany Produce Company 3310 75th Ave Landover, MD 20785
Job Purpose/Objective:		The Warehouse Receiver AM Shift is responsible for ensuring that produce and dairy products being delivered to Keany Produce are received from its suppliers and stored in the proper manner within the Keany Produce warehouse areas.
Essential Job Functions		1.To ensure that produce and dairy products being delivered to Keany are correct in terms of item type, quantity, and quality. 2.To ensure proper warehouse storage of produce items so that inventory is managed in such a way that inventory is housed in the correct location and the oldest inventory is used first. 3.To ensure that products are stored safely and that a clean warehouse environment is maintained. 4.To input data for received items in the system to reflect current inventory levels. 5.To transfer inventory to other warehouse departments and properly dispose of damaged products. Additional Job Functions: 1.Cleaning the warehouse area including sweeping and removal of any boxes
Working Conditions/Job Environment		1.Degree of physical demands (strength) usually associated with this position. * Minimum lift requirement 50-60 lbs on a regular basis 2.Frequent stooping and bending 3.Working in 45 – 55 degree (F) warehouse areas for 7-8 hours on a daily basis
Qualifications:		Minimum Qualifications: 1. Education: * High School Diploma or equivalent 2. Experience: * 1 - 2 years direct receiving and storage preferably in the produce industry 3. Knowledge: * Warehouse receiving and storage processes and procedures * Knowledge of produce types and ability to make judgments on product quality 4. Skills and Abilities: * Comfortable working in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment, and have good organizational skills. * Able to drive a stand up fork lift truck * Able to lift and load cases on to warehouse shelves properly and safely * Ability to read put-away reports and match with slot location and case product description Preferred Qualifications: 1. Education: * Associates or Bachelor’s Degree 2. Experience: * 2 – 3 years direct order pulling experience preferably in the produce industry 3. Knowledge: * Advanced knowledge of warehouse receiving and storage processes and procedures * Advanced knowledge of produce types and ability to make judgments on product quality 4. Skills and Abilities: * Flexibility and adaptable to change in work assignments and priorities. Must be a self starter, assertive – decision maker, forward thinker, and problem solver. 5. Licensure/Other: * Forklift Operator’s License
