Quality Assurance Manager

Education:

• BS or BA in food science, biology, food technology or chemistry

Objective:

• Manage the daily operations of the quality lab providing conformance to internal and external standards

• Monitor, manage and maintain produce safety, quality, and consistency for all products packed and shipped by Keany Produce

• Act as HACCP and GMP coordinator, maintain and monitor compliance

• Maintain and coordinate sanitation of the facility, including monitoring the frequency and effectiveness of cleaning and sanitizing equipment surfaces. Respond to and correct sanitation failures

• Respond to, track and report quality complaints from customers

• Set standards and procedures for monitoring and regulating quality levels for receiving product.

• Develop product specifications to ensure company specifications match customer expectations

• Maintain compliance with local, state, federal and customer regulations.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge and Skills: • Food safety and food science including quality standards

• Chemical, physical and microbiological interactions of foods and outside agents

• Working knowledge of USDA, FDA, EPA regulations and GMPs

• Working knowledge of HACCP

• Knowledge of MS Office

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communication with all organizational levels and outside agencies, customers. This includes the ability to write professional proposals and business correspondences.

• Must have a sense of urgency

• Must be able to prioritize and adjust priorities according to rapidly changing business needs and demands

• Must be analytical and detail oriented

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision

• 2 to 5 years experience in produce industry

Physical Requirment: • Working in extreme temperatures, including cold and wet environments

• Manipulate around a warehouse with moving equipment
